1. Edo Guber: Three PDP governorship aspirants refuse to step down for Obaseki.
According to report this afternoon, it has been revealed that, The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has so far failed to convince the three aspirants on its platform, to step aside for Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, ahead of their primaries.
Gideon Ikhine, Ogbeide-Ihama and Kenneth Imasuagbon are the three men that were screened and cleared by the party for the primary.
However, Obaseki’s decision to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) for PDP, has changed the complexion of the game.
Obaseki defected to the opposition party along with his deputy, Hon. Philip Shuaibu.
The PDP primary was initially scheduled to hold last weekend, but has now been postponed until tomorrow, because of the new developments.
Ahead of Tuesday’s primary, Obaseki has met with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state; Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Aminu Tambuwal and the Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike, to strategise on how to get him the ticket.
It is understood that a meeting that held Saturday night between key PDP leaders and the three governorship aspirants ended in a deadlock.
Imasuagbo, Ogbeide-Ihama and Ikhine have so far refused to be yield to pressure from every quarter.
“Yes, there is pressure from them. But it is not about pressure, but about doing the right thing in line with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, due process and the Electoral Act.
“It is disappointing and a big shame in Edo State and the entire nation and it portends danger for the country and the party. Nigerians should rise up against what is happening. We are not in the jungle; it is not a do-or-die affair, but about the process. It is totally unacceptable,” Imasuagbon said.
2. APC Swears-in Worgu Boms, removes Victor Giadom.
It was reported this afternoon that, The All Progressives Congress, APC has sworn-in Hon. Worgu Boms as the new national secretary of the Party.

3. COVID-19: We’ve received only little support from PTF, NCDC ― Akwa Ibom Govt.
According to report this afternoon, Akwa Ibom state government has made it known that they have received just a little support from Presidential Task Force and Nigeria Center for Disease Control, in the fight against the spread of deadly Coronavirus in the state.
Chairman of COVID-19 Management Committee and Secretary to the State Government, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem, made the disclosure while receiving the NCDC team on an inspection tour in the state.
According to him, the state government was doing everything regarding the fight against COVID-19 alone, without support from the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 and the NCDC.
“We’ve received very little from the NCDC and the PTF. What you’ve seen in all the places you visited are from the vision of His Excellency, the Governor and the resources of Akwa Ibom. This is because the governor believes that we can’t have an ailing and sickly population. So, take our words back to the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force, that Akwa Ibom people are doing a lot on their own and that we need a lot of support and encouragement from them,” Ekuwem said.
He explained that the state has already taken the necessary measures, including the acquisition of medical equipment to hospitals in the state even before the outbreak of COVID-19, in the country.
Ekuwem, who expressed appreciation for the work the agency and the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 were doing for the nation, commended Governor Emmanuel for his support to the COVID-19 Incident Management Committee in the state.
